Combined completion system design model for horizontal wells on Yu. Korchagin off-shore field
Development of the field of a name Korchagin carried wells with horizontal sections up to 5000 meters, which allows you to have an increased surface drilling-and lower filtration resistance in bottom-hole zones. Thus, not only increases productivity of wells, but also increases the ultimate oil recovery reservoir as a whole. This paper presents modeling outcome for Combined Completion run and performance in ERD wells with horizontal openhole up to 5000 m. “Combined Completion” is introduced by the authors as a new concept, which implies installation of “active” and “passive” Inflow Control Devices in horizontal openhole. Modeling results show the benefits of the Combined Completion System in optimizing well performance over its life, reducing the amount of water and gas breakthrough as well as increasing life of well at optimal operating conditions.
