Improving the educational level of the population on the safe use of gas cylinders
We consider statistics of accidents related to explosions of gas cylinders, explore the causes and consequences of these accidents. Domestic gas is widely used in everyday life, people have become so accustomed to it that they forget how dangerous it is. Statistics show that the most frequent cause of gas explosion is the human factor. Gas cylinders, regardless of the gas type, are highly dangerous and can explode from various causes. These include: impacts (falling), heating, which causes an increase in pressure in the cylinder, metal brittleness at low temperatures, cylinder overflow with liquefied gases, and improper use of cylinders. Based on the analysis of the situation, we considered methods of calculating flammability limits for gas and steam mixture, in order to improve explosion safety of cylinders with flammable gases. Methods of calculation are applicable to individual organic compounds consisting of C, H, O, N, C1 atoms and their mixtures. The composition of mixtures may include hydrogen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and water vapor. The relative average square error of the calculated values of flammability limits is less than 20%. Security problems of household gas equipment are systemic. To a large extent they are related to the adoption of a set of regulations that almost destroyed the system of control VDGO within the last two decades.
