The current state of oil fields in Western Siberia is characterized by a massive occurrence of deposits in the late stage of development, accompanied by high water cut of well production while maintaining significant residual oil reserves. This encourages oil companies to resort to large-scale introduction of methods of limiting water inflows and enhanced oil recovery. This primarily applies to the technologies of the leveling of the injectivity profile in the injection wells.
Another feature of the current state of the oil industry is the massive implementation of measures to intensify oil production. This is optimization of operating modes of producing wells by lowering the bottomhole pressure below the gas saturation pressure, stimulation of wells by hydraulic fracturing and bottomhole formation treatments. When choosing wells for the development of such activities, the question of their influence on the rate of water production is usually not considered. At the same time, in practice, a large number of cases of growth of water cut in well production after geological and technical measures in them to accelerate fluid withdrawals, as well as cases of a decrease in the rate of watering, are noted in practice.
Another important feature of the current state of the oil industry is the massive development of deposits of hard-to-recover oil reserves. First of all, this applies to deposits with low-permeability reservoirs, on which stimulation of wells with fracturing is massively applied. It also concerns waterfowl deposits of oil with massive watering of wells by means of stabbed overflows.
The task of reducing the rate of decline in production and the recovery of residual stocks requires the use of new technologies. At the same time, the preferred technologies are those that do not require capital expenditure for implementation. Such flow-diverting technologies include the injection of crosslinked polymer compositions based on polymers of a series of acrylamide and cross-linkers of polyvalent metal salts.
